In a brilliant defense of his home track, Justin Kirby picked up his fifth win of the Red Sox Racing Leagues 2011 Season Two F1 schedule.  His victory at the ?It?s Cool to be Cheesy 22? moved Kirby into second place in the overall championship point race.    Road America is one of the favorite tracks on the RSR schedule.  With 14 corners and a technically challenging four mile layout, the circuit provides ample opportunity for drivers to assess their competition before making pass attempts.  The pit road entrance and exit at Road America is one of the easiest to negotiate on the F1 schedule.  Unfortunately for them, the break drivers get during pitting is the only rest available on the course.       Elevation changes at many of the corners mean braking [...]

Officially, Audi still refuses to confirm that the A6 hybrid will be offered in the U.S. The fact that the hybrid will be built exclusively as a sedan was a strong indicator of U.S. availability, a hint underscored by an Audi marketing executive’s admission that “hybrid and station wagon markets are mutually exclusive.” Now, we [...]

Yvan Muller withstood a charging drive from Rob Huff to take his third consecutive World Touring Car victory and close to within eight points of the Briton in the drivers' standings. Starting from pole, Muller was followed by Huff as the field made its way cleanly through Turn 1, and the pair had opened a gap of more than three seconds by the end of the first lap as the field squabbled behind them.

Alexander Sims has been excluded from the first GP3 race at the Hungaroring, handing the championship lead to race winner Valtteri Bottas. Bottas initially moved up to second in the points with his victory, while Sims retained the lead in the standings by coming home fourth. However, the Briton's Status Grand Prix car was excluded from the race following scrutineering on Saturday evening, where it failed the rear floor height check.

Topping off Maserati’s topless lineup with the delightful Sport. Mark Webber's new contract at Red Bull Racing is expected to be sorted before the end of the summer break, with team boss Christian Horner seeing no reason why it should be his last deal in F1. The Australian is due to visit Red Bull's Austrian headquarters early this week to speak to the energy drink's chiefs about his future plans - with it being widely expected that he will be rewarded with another year's extension

Adrian Sutil was a delighted man after securing eighth place on the grid for the Hungarian Grand Prix, the second time in succession the German has qualified there. "I'm very pleased with my qualifying and it feels great to be starting from eighth for the second race in a row," said the Force India driver, who scored his best result of the season in last weekend's German Grand Prix with a sixth place finish. "This morning in final practice things did not look so good because I was struggling with a general lack of grip.

Formula 1 teams are set to ask Bernie Ecclestone to rethink his plans for the 2012 calendar amid fears that the end of season run of races will prove a logistical nightmare. As AUTOSPORT exclusively revealed earlier this weekend, Ecclestone has undertaken a major reshuffle of the original schedule that was published by the FIA in June. As well as Bahrain moving to the tail end of the season and Turkey being dropped, the United States Grand Prix in Austin is set to become the penultimate round of the season as part of a back-to-back with Brazil

Jenson Button broke back into the Castrol EDGE Rankings top eight courtesy of his perfectly judged victory in changeable weather conditions in Hungary. A run of bad luck - including consecutive retirements at Silverstone and the Nurburgring ? had dropped Button to a two-year low of ninth in the Rankings, but Hungary proved the perfect tonic as Button once again showcased his ability to win in the trickiest of conditions in what was his 200th grand prix start. The win not only reinvigorated Button's challenge in the 2011 championship, but moved him back to eighth ahead of NASCAR's Carl Edwards.

Ferrari thinks that if it can further improve its form in Q3 then it has the package needed to fight for victory over the remainder of the season. Although Fernando Alonso has been the highest scoring driver in the last four races, the team feels that its chances in the races are being hurt by the fact that Red Bull Racing and McLaren are able to extract more performance in the final dash for grid positions.
